Technical Analysis (Part 25) – Putting it all together: Improving your results

November 16, 2017 by The Stop Hunter Leave a Comment

We’ve finally come to the last article in our 25 part technical analysis series. I hope you’ve enjoyed it and found it beneficial? In the previous article, we looked at applying technical analysis to Risk & Trade management. There is still though another great, not so obvious, use for technical analysis that we need to look at before wrapping up this series. Another part of the trading and investing jigsaw to piece together! I hope by now, you’re starting to see that technical analysis is not a one dimensional tool. Applying and using the basic inputs to your technical analysis in a simple quantitative/qualitative process, can go a long way to improving your results. [Read more…]

Technical Analysis (Part 23) – Putting it all together: strategy, design & implementation

September 20, 2017 by The Stop Hunter Leave a Comment

We are going to round off our introductory technical analysis series, in the last three articles, by putting together what we’ve learnt so far. It’s fine having all this new knowledge, but how do you use it in the real world? Technical analysis is a multi-talented tool that can be used for many things in your trading – not just direct price analysis. STA Summer Party Guest Presenter 11/07/17

July 17, 2017 by The Stop Hunter Leave a Comment

Really enjoyed being guest speaker at the Society of Technical Analysts Summer Party & Awards ceremony last week. Asked to do something ‘lighthearted’ and now tagged as the STA’s Peter Kay!

Even better was my call of a Lean Hogs technical seasonality correction on the Tuesday evening and by the Thursday it had fallen 25% – who said I cant move markets!

Congratulations and good luck once again to all those students who achieved the MSTA qualification – I hope you found my ‘new technical analysts survival guide’ presentation useful and you’ll remember some of my top 10 tips when you’re at the top of your game!

Traders Surgery 27th June 2017

It was great to see everyone at this month’s Traders Surgery and to welcome more new members. The surgery kicked off with a discussion on Sins and Wins from the previous month, looking at how we can all improve our win/loss ratios.

THE STOP HUNTER DEVELOPMENTS
The eagerly awaited webinars will be trialed at the beginning of July for a Renko webinar and then followed by the Traders Surgery both in person and via a webinar. This is free to members and can be accessed via the webinar page within the Traders Club section of the website.

The new broker offering, FX Pro, will be available in the next couple of weeks. The spreads are low and the platform is very close to a professional Traders platform.

TRADING QUESTIONS

The Traders Club members had identified questions for discussion. A few of the topics covered included; reviewing the Renko strategy as a Technical Analysis Tool, what settings to use for Pivot Points, Stephen’s stop loss strategy when trading.

TRADING OPPORTUNITIES
The lean hogs bearish season is soon to start. The use of Stockopedia as tool to trade equities.

The next Traders Surgery is on Tuesday 27th July 2017. It is a 2hr FREE coaching session exclusively for members of our Traders Club. If you would like to join the Traders Club you can register here.
